it was to become e-waste but now it runs the gay flag BSD :)

• has cracks in its body as it was stored under a PlayStation 3 and a bunch of other heavy stuff for years

never obsolete!!!

it took hours to build i3 wm from source, for some reason i could not find the binary pkg with pkgin... but it works!!!

then i installed the dillo browser, which was available as a binary package. it is very comfy!

it is cool to ssh into computers made for sharing :)

the ThinkPad itself also runs an sshd now, so i can ssh into it from my local network! i changed the /etc/motd and ssh banner which can be changed in /etc/ssh/sshd_config by setting Banner to a text file of your choice :>

sadly, wscons (the workstation console driver) does not seem to support utf-8 so i kinda have to use X11 and friends...

i made the NetBSD installer segfault...

but then the installation went fine and connecting to the internet via wifi works :)

after successful installation though, i ended up having to change /etc/fstab as soon as i removed the installation usb flash drive because the device numbers changed (i installed netbsd onto another usb drive). i then used ed(1) to edit fstab :) i could have just inserted the installation usb drive again while booting and used vi, but using the line based text editor felt cool %)

still runs windows XP!

at first i thought the 60 GB toshiba IDE HDD with the win xp partition had died, but i just had to re-insert it properly :)

i played some age of empires 1 and space cadet pinball :)

cannot connect to wifi, though. probably for the best
